Norwich's James Auckland believes he has the ideal game to complement that of British No 1 Andy Murray as the pair look set to go into battle together as doubles partners for the Davis Cup tie against Serbia & Montenegro next month.
I've been playing doubles with Andy for a while now and our games complement each other. I like to serve and volley and he likes to play passing shots, so I take care of the net and he stays at the back. He's the kind of player who can create chances for you.
I practised with Andy for three weeks solid while we were out in San Jose as his coach was not out there at the time, so it was just me and him.
Auckland joins Murray, British No 2 Greg Rusedski and No 5 Arvind Parmar in Jeremy Bates' squad for the Europe/Africa Group play-off match at Glasgow's Braehead Arena, starting on April 7.
