reports say Andy spent afternoon playing football rather than on practise courts....reassuringly confident or annoyingly nonchalant..... Whistle

Aside from wanting to break up the day the worst time to practice is in the midday heat.

More like rresponsible.  If he really cares about his tennis career perhaps he should consider giving up playing football because of the risk of leg injuries.

I thought that too Aileen, but, I think we're being selfish. He's young.....he needs fun!

It will be great seeing Andy in action again though I'm not getting my hopes up for IW as there are a lot of players 'match-fit' and in great form just now. Andy's lay off will probably mean that it will be Miami before he hits his stride properly again. Pretty good draw though so fingers crossed he goes deep in the tournie, a quarter final with Del Potro or Soderling would be something worth looking forward to! Does anyone know when he is likely to be playing his first match? I know Sky begin coverage on Saturday so maybe then? C'MON ANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know what to expect from Andy and am just prepared to take it as it comes. It's been a horrible month so it can only get better.

If you look at the Andy pics thread, you'll see that Djokovic, Troicki and Kohlschreiber were playing footie with him, so ... Shrug  Looks like just a bit of a kick-about though, not the more serious stuff. Smile

Saturday it is (see page-header).   Matches start at 11 am IW time, which is GMT -8hrs, i.e. 7 pm here, so we could be burning the midnight oil.  Just hope Andy doesn't get too many afternoon matches like he did in Toronto. Frown

Also Andy isn't playing Starace after all but a 21-year-old American who's ranked about 100 points below Starace and who beat him 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.  First twist in the tournament, I think. Smile

It'll be interesting to see  how the Murray brothers do today when they play Melo og Soaves in doubles. Rafa + Lopez and Mr Arrogance + S Warinka are also playing doubles today.   cmon yeah come on our lads!!!

Posting on Andy Murray.com says he's been praticing new "things" but will not say what. Andy likes to keep his own council and who can blame him??

It's clear to me that that he is largely being ignored on the I.W. website. There is all sorts of headlines and all the big boys are mentioned, some of the smaller fish too...but the Murray name is noticable by its absence, as are any photos of Andy on the front page.
They clearly have no expections of him...Maybe this will bode well? I mean it wont increase the pressure.
Come on Mr. Magic!! Good name that!

I'm wishing all MW friends a good IW- weekend!
