Andy Murray aims to raise the profile of tennis in Scotland as his home country prepare to take on England in the inaugural Aberdeen Cup.

Murray will be joined on court by older brother Jamie on Sunday for a doubles encounter with British number two Greg Rusedski and English prospect David Sherwood.

Murray said:
He is a bit more relaxed on court than me, and although he can get angry sometimes, we're not really the same.

That is probably a bonus for when we team up, as I can get fired up and he will be there to keep me calm.

Patriotic Murray has always been keen to emphasise his Scottish roots when on the world stage, and it will be no different when he takes to the court in Aberdeen.

He added:
As a sportsman, you never want to lose anything, and I certainly don't want to lose against England. I am sure the rest of the guys in the team are thinking the same.
