One hesitates to say because he is a manipulative, selfish tw*t, who thinks the world revolves around him, hence he can do what he likes.
Why is RF practising in Cincy if he pulled out of this tourney siting fatigue? Mmmmmmmmmm

I suspect some of the soreness was simply due to lack of sleep. My completely unfit and knackered joints are fouler than usual when I am very tired. Not too mention I haven't been running around on them for several hours a day under high stress levels for several weeks. Wonder of the comment about Cininatti was a mild form of psychological gamesmanship. Keep his opponents guessing. Berdych has just been beaten in Toronto. I don't think anybody below him will be gaining on his from this tournament.
P.S. I stand corrected about him heading back to Mr L, regardless of the closing ceremony. However I still think it is sad. This was a major triumph. I wish he had time to enjoy it fully. I like most people of us think it will be the defining moment of his career.
I don't think there's any gamesmanship here because I get the feeling Andy's not too bothered at the moment what happens, so long as he gets fit for the USO.
I do agree with you about the joints though because mine are the same!
He'll miss the closing ceremony but I believe there's to be a parade of British medal winners in London, provisonally on 10 September, although that too might be difficult. Oh well, if all else fails, then I'm sure Alex Salmond will have something lined up!

I believe Alex Salmond and the Scottish Parliment are organising a reception for the Scolympians (as he calls them), but with a schedule like Andy's, attending things like this are always going to be tricky, such a shame really, it is always the same with the Sports Personality of the Year both the BBC one and the Scottish Sports Awards (which he won last year) they always clash with his pre AO training stint.

Jo-Wilfried has pulled out because he was in a car accident last night and had to have his knee stitched.
Poor lad, what a shame.

Obviously some misinformation here, another report says this:
Freak accident rules Jo-Wilfried Tsonga out of Cincinnati Open
By Jack Prescott, Olympic Tennis Correspondent
Filed: Friday, August 10, 2012 at 21:52 UK
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has pulled out of next week's Cincinnati Open following a freak accident in Toronto.
The world number six, who was competing in the Rogers Cup, had to have stitches in his knee after he ran into a fire hydrant in the street.
Earlier reports had suggested that the French Olympic silver medallist had been involved in a car accident."

^ The fire hydrant story has been confirmed by tennis.com, who removed the word "car" from their article's title.

I really hate Alex Salmond calling them that. It sounds like a nasty disease!
Andy might be OK for this reception, if they schedule it properly. He usually returns to the UK after the USO before going on to the Far East, and also the off-season now lasts for 7 weeks instead of 5, which is why the WTF starts on 5 November this year, so Andy might be able to attend before going off to train in Miami. I would think though that the reception would be held as soon after the Olympics as possible.

Sorry, just read subsequent replies. I too initially thought it was a car accident.
How the hell do you run into a fire hydrant?

^ My thoughts too - they're quite big and painted red. Maybe he was still a bit jet-lagged?
