Hi Gang, just caught the news of Team GB's win - well done lads excellent result. Also very proud of our Andy. It definately ment alot to him (the tears), get some well earned rest before you start your  American hardcourt swing. Now i'm off to catch my flight. Off to Hong Kong  for a week. hug

Yes I did I'm afraid.  I don't really like watching on line as I spend so much of my time in front of a pc and also find the picture isn't that great. So I decided to stick with the highlights and sounds like I should get most of the match + I hope the tears at the end.

Actually, the picture was considerably better than I had expected. I trust that the tears will be shown later as really the are part of what makes Andy.

I feel that the emotions were multifold.

1. Winning for the team;
2. The support he received from the audience;
3. Being surrounded by his ain folk, as he has often stated friends and family are the most important parts of his life.

Well done Andy brilliant performance today from a very tricky player - he handled everything that Muller threw at him so professionally.  I hope this DC appearance is the catalyst to launch him forward - it could so have gone the other way after his bitter dissapointment at SF stage at Wimbledon.  I think the tears at the end were a release for him - the support he receieved was immense and probably the best "pick me up" he could have got.  Andy is an immense talent he just needs to believe that - lets hope Darren Cahill can do some work with him in the next couple of weeks before the American hard court swing.  What I thought was really nice today was the fact he paid tribute to the whole team including Ross Hutchins and Colin Fleming for keeping the spirit going.  At the end of the day DC team need Andy not only for his tennis but for what he brings to the event.  Come on Andy !!!

Andy Murray sealed Team GB's victory over Luxembourg today with a comprehensive 6-4, 6-3, 6-1 victory over Gilles Muller.

Team GB will now compete for promotion in a tie against Hungary on 16-18 September.

Murray will be in action next month as the US hardcourt swing gets underway.
Thanks Phil.
Well done Team GB and especially Andy.  His tears made me cry too. Judy's bottom lip was quivering too when she saw Andy filled with  emotion.
Nothing wrong with that at all.

Just got back from Braehead and what an experience!  Firstly, saw Andy up close and nearly personal when he had to jump the barrier (I was the third row in front of him), secondly he played a brilliant match and I wasn't surprised he broke down at the interview, the crowd were really behind him and the rest of the team and I think the aftermath of Wimbledon and having all his family there all became to much for him.  I appreciate how talented Andy is more than ever after seeing him live and it will be a long time before I begin to forget the past three days............back to the housework tomorrow!

The emotion was unexpected, but nice to see. I'm confident that the US Hardcourt season is going to be at least decent... and the in the last couple of months I've really warmed to Murray as a person. Well done mate, you should be very proud of what you've achieved so far.
