Are you saying he's been a bit of a Jonah?
Yes, Bevc, certainly am. IM not so HO Andy's forehand has deteriorated under Corretja's loving care. Since, I believe, he was brought in specifically to coach Andy on clay, don't see much improvement either. Just the sight of his miserable face court side, made my heart sink. So I am bounce
I understand Corretja doesn't like travelling away from his family too much either, which is why he wasn't at the AO. And lo, Andy reached the final Wink
I hope Andy takes his time, this appointment is so crucial. Players are meant to reach their peak 24-27, so this is it folks pray

I know I'm paranoid. But am I paranoid enough?

That blog of Overend's was as terrible as ever.  The guy has no talent whatsoever.  A first year film and media student at most joe blogg's universities would do a better job

Absolutely. What really sticks in my craw is that 'About this blog' blurb he uses:

'I started as the BBC's tennis specialist in 2003, expecting to see off Henman and Rusedski and then be made redundant. But a lad called Andrew Murray came along, I was made correspondent. A job was invented to travel the world watching sport. Genius. I do it. Love it.'

What's all that got to do with me, the reader? Go on, shove it down our throats exactly how great your job is. Bloody BBC. Hate them.

Nigel, to me that blurb is quite humbling and shows he is grateful and doesn't take his job for granted.

And another thing. He's always writing stuff like: 'As Novak Djokovic told me a few days ago...'

That was a full media conference, not a bloody one-on-one chat.

Richard Branson told me never to namedrop.

He shouldn't be writing about himself. He's irrelevant. He's just the vehicle for carrying information and insight from tennis's frontline. Something like that, really, would have been better, eg 'Locker room insight from our man on the inside'.

He's essentially a columnist though so I understand why it has a personal element to it.

Not trying to draw attention to my own posts, but does anybody else think there's something a bit puzzling about Andy's quote from the Bleacher Report re his coaching sitation? - "It's not anyone's fault for giving me wrong tactics or practising the wrong way. That's not the reason why I played like I did. So I'll have a think about it and see what I want to do. If I make a change, it won't be because of how I've played the last two matches" - yet the first thing he does after the Bogolomov match is sack Corretja?  Also it sounds to me that he may have finally woken up to the fact that his problem is a psychological issue which needs to be addressed.

Yeah! kinda was a bit of BS to it....but maybe he's been thinking about it, and the straw was his last performance. It wasn't Corretja who stank up the place, he just got the kicking. Now if Andy thinks his ball returner is a better coach, then we have a problem, let's hope not and he has someone else on his plate.

I go along with that.  Something about Murray's whole set-up has had a bad smell about it, really since Maclagan went (apparently against Murray's wishes).  I can't truly believe he'll appoint his best mate as his coach (if he does then he definitely needs to see a shrink), as I too feel that he's at last accepted that something has to very seriously change re his mental attitude.
