I suppose it is because they have nothing else to go on. No-one is commenting on the break up - just asking for privacy. Of course they can't have that, they are 'in the public eye' and everyone wants to know the details. If they aren't given any, they will speculate, it sells newspapers/magazines. So he plays a few computer games - so do I! The best thing Andy and Kim can do is to say nothing to anybody and hopefully everything will fade quite quickly.
As for the Telegraph, that sucks, they're not usually 'gossip for the sake of it' merchants, must be the comment by Brad - how much growing up does a young man do in 2/3 years? Quite a bit I think you'll find especially as his increasing maturity is obvious in so many ways.
