Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

^ I suspect it was the high humidity plus general fatigue that got to him in Cincy.  He says he actually enjoys playing in the heat.

Read somewhere today or yesterday that he 'admitted' he'd not hydrated properly before the match - so a lesson learned.

Yes I read that too at the time.  He really should have had more savvy by now.  You don't take chances in those conditions.  Still, it gave him more time to get prepared for the USO, and that's what really matters.

I note that Andy once again is deprived of the evening match. He is on at approx 2.45pm tomorrow afternoon, Friday (ca 7.45 pm our time). Nadal, Federer, Djokovic will have all enjoyed the late timings. Not our AM.

Who said conspiracy?

I think a Murray v Wawrinka match-up will get a night slot.

To be honest, playing early might be a good thing tomorrow, weather may disrupt things later on in the day.

BBC weren't quite sure just when the rain would hit NYC, but in any event it will be cooler than Wednesday.

Jonathan Overend thought he might end up with a night match anyway if there are rain delays in the pm.  Perhaps they're saving the night match for if he plays Querrey.  But still think it's poor show that the other top 3 get a night spot in first week and Andy doesn't. Not just because of the heat in the day but because of the buzz of the night matches.

Despite this year's results between these two opponents, Andy WILL beat Mardy should they meet in USO.

I still believe that Andy was robbed at Cincinnati by the "disgraceful" line call in the tie-breaker. Psychologically, if that victory had come to AM, the posts on these threads would be different in their tone.
