"If you guys expect me to play well every single match and every single tournament then it's not going to happen, " he said.

I thought hulahoop's comments were fair, that was a very painful match to watch and it may of been Andy's worst match of his career.

It was such a mis match in the first place, like a heavyweight boxer going into the ring against a flyweight.  The organisers (Wasn't McEnroe one of the driving forces behind Superset?) must have made it worth his while on the financial front but I don't think it ever should have taken place.  I remember Andy getting a great reception from the crowd though, even back then.

I doubt it. Very Happy He'd probably agree. He's a lot more realistic about himself than some of us. (I always get Wembley and The Seniors event at the Albert Hall mixed up Embarassed )

I was stating a fact. I haven't seen him play as badly as yesterday since then. Nothing to do with his age or experiences in the last 18 months or so.

That's how poor he was yesterday. So how was that unfair?

But I'm not going to fall out with you over it. I was expressing an opinion. Wink Something I've got a lot of!!!!

I don't even think we should count that Superset event as part of Andy's 'career' as it was just that, a set.  It wasn't  a match in the proper sense at all.

it was however one of the first things which got him noticed by a lot of ppl, especially coming so soon after the us open juniors so in that respect it was quite a big part of his career
