Well done Andy, good match. Potentially very tricky opponent. Andy did what he had to, i feel there is more to come, most if not all pundits thought andy won whilst playing in third gear. If that indeed was the case, then i can't wait for Andy to really step it up to top gear. That said we've been here before. The 2010 US Open. Excellent first two rounds from Andy, then disaster in the third round!! Lets not get ahead of ourselves, Andy will have to step it up a gear in his third round match. will he? I for one believe he will do it (mentally he's in a better place going into this third round contest). By way comparisons, his forthcoming third round match will also be a day time affair as was his match in the third round of the 2010 US Open...............we wait with baited breath.
Thanks again for your comments.  Goodness knows what happened at the USO but it did emerge later that Andy was suffering from a virus, and these things can scramble your brains a bit.  I also believe he possibly didn't give himself enough to time to recover from the heat exhaustion he experienced in Cincinnati, which followed on so quickly from the gruelling daytime matches he played in Toronto.

The difference between NY and Melbourne is that summer in NY is usually very hot and humid whereas the heat in Oz is a dry heat, which, of course, can also take it's toll.  Fortunately at the moment they seems to be experiencing lower than average temperatures.

Carole, you don't have to put a photo of yourself!!!  Just look at other people's avatars.  You can find plenty on the internet if you search for "avatars" and Mark will tell you how to set one up if you go to the help thread you were on before.  Don't worry about age - ages on MW range from about 15 to 75 - you don't have to be young to be cool!

Yes, you can change your user name.  I did, only I went from a made-up name to my real one!   You'll have to get Mark to do it, though, so again mention it on that thread.

Hi Aileen, I think someone else has just nicked the 'Bad Ass' avatar I was thinking of using! I'll have a look on the 'net when I have time, but I don't want to ask Mark to do anything else for me for a while after the 'quote button 'thing last week! I'm only joking about people thinking I'm young. Nah! I'm really quite comfortable in my own skin! [Most of the time anyway]. The 'age' thing doesn't bother me....most days...Haha! Too late anyway. I've already told y'all I'm a granny in my introduction. As for 'cool', you've already nicked the 'Queen of cool' title!!!!

Well done Carole - and looking forward to that avatar!  It took me some time to get it right and I had Daisy in stitches during the process, but I got there in the end.

Glad you like it Carole.  Yes it's the Matterhorn.  Stayed in a crazy hotel in Zermatt a few years ago where we could lie in bed and gaze out on it.  It's an amazing presence.

Yes. I've had similar....stayed in a chalet in a little village called Murren in Switzerland and I woke up every morning to a magnificent view of the Eiger and the Jung Frau just across the valley! Magic!

I think my father stayed there once as the name rings a bell.  Yes the mountains are magic indeed.   Let's hope Mr Magic will step out on court in our early hours.
