Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

I don't worry if he doesn't blow the opponent off court in his first match of a tournament. He plays his way in, as most of the top guys do I think, then turns on the style as he grows accustomed to the surface/conditions/his own game in the later rounds. I've seen it enough.
Guess you're right. Trouble is, until now, I've not been able to see a lot of Andy's matches, or any other male players for that matter. I've now subscribed to the ATP's official live-streaming at tennistv.com so I can watch on my laptop. Annual sub £60, if anyone who, like myself, doesn't have the relevant TV facilities, is interested. I reckon it should be well worth it.
Btw - I only saw Andy's match then it skipped straight onto the next one, so can anyone provide Andy's post-match interview?

Not how the beeb tells it :whistle
Andy Murray cruises past fitful Andreas Seppi
Also, Andy lost to
Russian Igor Kunitsyn last time out
apparently
Andy Murray came through the second round of the BNP Paribas Open with a comfortable 6-4 6-4 win over Italy's Andreas Seppi in Indian Wells.
After his surprise defeat to Russian Igor Kunitsyn last time out, Murray looked more focused as he eased past his inconsistent Italian opponent.

I wish Andy would play his best throughout the whole game. We have seen time and time again he starts off playing and below par then picks up .... it will let him down. Fed and Rafa play consistently and it is noticeable. Andy needs to up his whole attitude. He is a great player but he lets himself down - as well as his fans. I know this may sound harsh, but I have seen it time and time again ....

Have I been missing something recently, just reading the article on am.com where Andy says "It's been a tough few weeks for obvious reasons. There has been a lot of stuff going on off court and in the media etc. etc." What's been happening, I seem to have slept through it?

According to Jonathan Overend, Andy kept looking at his coaching team for some unknown reason. He also said that it looked like Andy didn't want to be there. Was Jonathan right, when he said Andy is now the world number three? Everyone has has said he's still number four.

Sorry dont agree with this, although I would like to see him play his best too many of the top players start off like this, both feds and djokovic were pushed to three sets in the second round and rafa came through with the same score as andy. I dont think this is any reflection on how its going to turn out at all just players getting their rhythm back.

All the top players start in a low-key manner and then improve their performance levels as the week goes on.
Fed lost a set to Hanescu yesterday, he was hardly firing on all cylinders.

Seppi is absolutely tailor made for Muzza. I wouldn't read too much into this match. He will get better, don't you worry.

Well there was the fallout from his last-minute withdrawal from Marseille, then his early and controversial exit in Dubai, followed by the consequences of GB's defeat in the Davis Cup. Maybe the AO took more out of him than we might have expected ... and of course there's always Kim ...

Andy tends to look, sometimes balefully, at his coaching team if he's not too happy about something. Wouldn't read too much into this as it happens quite often.
Also, as of the last official rankings on 8 March, Andy was still #4 on 7255 points, just below Nadal who's on 7440 points. With him being so close to Nadal, it's possible that there's been an upward unofficial change, but maybe somebody who understands the ranking system could explain.

Bring back ITV's Teletext! It's sports' reporting was second to none, and you got much more info on what was going on in the tennis world, not just focus on the big names. Also it kept you more up-to-date. The poor old Beeb is sooo slow
