There would have been no point in carrying on. Didnt he aggravate his wrist playing Davis cup under loads of pressure and hinder his career for some time? I wish they would give the poor boy a break.
Exactly, and on sky Greg and Annabel, were saying they would of liked to see a Doctors note that say"s what the problem is , do they think he is telling lies!!! when he so wonted to do well and keep his number 3 ranking , unbelievable!!!

Can we see a note confirming Boris's injury! Presunably he isnt lying so why on earth should Andy when there is so much at stake.

Annabel's parting shot at the beginning of today's broadcast - having seconded Boris' call for a doctors report after a night to sleep on it - was that she believed Andy's injury to be a groin strain not a tear and would, therefore, not require surgery.  Would she be happier if it did require surgery?  Did she wish Andy to continue, aggravate the strain so it became a tear, so that it did require surgery and put him out for most of next season?  Who the h*** do they think they are?  I have e-mailed my rant to SkyTennis - not that I think for a moment they will take any notice of it - they are far too busy reading out e-mails from Smugfed's adoring fans - but it made me feel better!

This event happened last Monday, interestingly the same day Murray injured himself.
Yeah! Funny ain't it. Makes more money on Brand hawking than playing tennis. Why worry?

Sacrifices for the sake of sponsorship, rather.

That good ole Brit Rudeski is a complete idiot in fact most of the sky comms are great at jumping on the Murray Band Wagon when things are going freest but when he loses a match then they comedown on him like a ton of bricks.  Do they dare to question the fitness of other player NO so why do they think it is appropriate to do it to Murray.  And this thing with the sponsorship if and it is a big IF he did it at the sponsors event then these things happen there us no way that he would have knowingly taken on anything that would have caused injury a groin strain could have happened anywhere practice court or gym.  I am sure that the most gutted out of all of us is Andy himself.  He is doing the sensible thing and protecting himself for 2012 - it is going to be Andy's year and I for one cannot wait to see the doubters including Rudeski and Croft eat every single one of their words.

The possibility of injury probably didn't go through his mind - Road Tennis looks much safer than tennis but the new movements to the body is what's dangerous.

I suppose Andy Murray must be to blame if this injury did happen at the Road Tennis.  You'd
think he would be able to see into the future and forecast what was going to happen.    The
least he should have done was to consult a fortune teller before making a move.    Very
neglectful - he's actually living his life.

Exactly what was he thinking of making a decision and not consulting the Sky Comms!!! They know everything don't they?   The guy is 24 he has commitments which he sticks to - terrible !!!!   What a way to behave.   Come on Andy rest up get better and stick it right back up everyone next year.  2012 it's going to be your year "Cometh the hour, Cometh the man". It's Murray Time.............

Watched the Fed/Nadal match last night with the sound turned off.  Couldn't take all the fawning over Fed it really was sickening stuff.  I just wish the TV companies would employ commentators who actually enjoy the tennis they watch and not a bunch of over the hill 'wannabes' who are not fit to tie Andy's shoelaces.  Andy has always tried to play through his injuries which is not always a sensible thing to do but did it because he didn't want to let people down therefore for idiots and hasbeens like Becker and Croft to talk of Doctors reports etc. is not only extremely disrepectful it is grossly insulting to both Andy and his team.  We should ask them to elaborate on their comments or apologise publicly.
Hopefully Andy will retain his number 3 spot which was one of his goals for this year and have a good break away from tennis and the pressures it brings.  I am really looking forward to 2012 and in particular the AO as I have said before this is the one Andy will win.

Well said.  Why should Andy be made to justify his actions?  Remember the time he played three matches at the Davis Cup for John Lloyd who has since vilified Andy in the press, what happened after that he missed seven weeks of the season.  I am glad he made the decision to quit and protect his interests for next year.  Ignore them Andy continue doing your own thing hey it has worked just fine.

One thing that will be sorely missed this year- the incredible match that you nearly always get when Andy plays Nadal - real tennis in the raw and so exciting.l

Hindsight is such a wonderful thing Very Happy

Take no notice Andy - you live your life your way.  I'm happy to be able to share your highs (which there will be many more) and lows (which I hope are few and far between).
