Murray the Goliath defeats David

Quote

As I look around the web, I see the naysayers saying that Andy chokes when he plays in tournaments that Fed, Novak, and Nadal play in.  And that the only reason he won in Asia, was that these guys were not playing in these tournaments.  So I say, c'mon Andy show these guys what you re  made of and make them eat their words!!  They forget that Andy has beaten all three of these guys.  ranting ranting

I strongly resent the suggestion that if the Joker and the Goat had played in Asia they would have automatically won. And didnt Nadal play anyway, didnt win a trophy and got beaten and bagelled by Andy?

There is an absolutely terrible article re Andy in Tramlines on Eurosport. I have emailed my disgust. Perhaps a few more should do the same.

Does he not think that Murray knows he needs slam victories? In any case, from memory, I'm not sure that any are being played at this time of year. So what should Andy do until January 2012, sit around on his arse getting fatter, bemoaning the fact he hasn't won one?

Hard to believe he beat Federer in b2b finals last year and yet seemingly he can't beat him.

Just finished reading the said article....................i have not laughed out loud like i did in many years, very biased, no real objectivity very  ephemeral and forgettable piece of writing, great to see  most of the posts there did not support the authors findings!

I am not surprised, was also half expecting it, to be honest.
Nonetheless, this is so unjust that it beggers belief! In fact its very primitive of these journalists (can we call them that?) to detract from a player that has given his all and won fair and square! It's just trash they write.

Thank you BigV for the link. I particularly liked this part. Of course this is what we have ALL been saying for a long time.:
Murray's technical and tactical abilities have long matched Djokovic, Nadal and Federer. It was those other things, plus his inability to deal with frustration, that harmed him. These victories could give him the serenity to get that elusive Grand Slam very soon.

Well he thrashed Nadal in Tokyo. Or was I just imagening it ! Those people are a bunch of ignorant idiots who do they think they are. They continue to be so so biased and I dont know why ? Andy is a great player and I am sure he does'nt read the papers the best place for them is in the rubbish bin and the same goes for those who write these stupid biased articles.

What a terrible article, so unfair but I have to say somewhat typical of the media. Take a young talent, build them up and when they start to acheive something knock them down and keep kicking. Did enjoy the article in the times by Neil Harman, no sensationalisim just frank and factual reporting also very complimentary to Andy.  Most of the comments below the article told the guy he was talking rubbish though which is encouraging.

Tramlines on Eurosport is just a "love-in" for Federites who refuse to accept that their man has come to a certain point in his career where it is inevitable that the younger guard are going to take over.  Andy is doing exactly what Djoko did playing the tournaments that are on and getting the win - a solid foundation on which to build upwards.  He is damned if he does and damned if doesn't.  His hat trick in Asia was truly brilliant and if it had been Federer the papers would be full of it - if it was Nadal it would be a supreme achievement and if it was Djoko then it would be further proof of his brilliance.  Well it wasn't any of them it was Andy so I would like to see the press give him some credit for this amazing achievement.  During the three tournaments Andy played tennis that all those three would have been proud of.  He has turned a corner and is finally putting things in place to take that final step.  Come on Andy take Paris and then I would love to see you winning at the O2 - what a confidence boost before AO 2012.  But come whatever you will always be supported by your true fans who have long admired your talent and ability and have long known that you will DO IT!!!!!  Very pleased to see the massive amount of positivity on MW it's where the true fans are !!!!  Come on Andy with you all the way.............

Article tramlines on EUROSPORT : I am  just horrified.

MISTER: Your article is written with a feeling of hatred in order to harm. You should be ashamed to write such nonsense!
We all need to say super-ANDY, to help him build on his success this year and won his first grand slam.
If you can not say anything useful, let someone else write an article that does not honest shame to your profession
The French defender of a great Scottish player.
