But is it really much of a trap? I mean, it's not like it's England vs Scotland. He could just reply, "I don't know anything about cricket but hopefully England win".
I guess he was trying to draw Andy into saying Australia, even if just jokingly, to bring back the 'against England in sport' thing. Most of the idiots in England would go at that like a bull at a red rag.

It's just hit me now as to why it's a good trap. Even if he is quoted as saying something positive about England the journalists will bring up the anti-English thing in their articles as a way of comparison and to suggest Murray is insincere. So it's a lose/lose for Murray regardless of team choice.

I really do not understand these journos - how do they morally allow themselves to get away with such inaccuracies and blatant fabrication? I just would not be able to live with myself.

I dont think they have a conscience Joe .
During Andy's match today, did anyone else notice the woman with the British accent yelling every 2 seconds " c'mon Ferrero " ?? I was so wishing I was there beside her , yep , might have accidently spilt my drink .

Apart from the first set, he was thrashed.

Because last time anything like that was brought up, it haunted him for 3 years. He should tell them to shove those questions up their arse.

Q. You mentioned your Ashes‑themed forfeits last week. Can I just ask how much of a fan of cricket are you, and who are you going to be supporting next week?
ANDY MURRAY: Yeah, let's go to the next one.
Has anyone seen the video on the Wimbledon website when he's asked the question? He just slams his head on the desk in sheer disbelief. He smiles when he lifts his head but does ask them to move on.
From Hewitt's interview...
Q. If you'd played Murray, it would have been a nice Ashes appetizer. Who is going to win the Ashes?
“Feeling pretty confident at the moment. You guys don't talk about the last one. You just keep going back to '05. Everything on the TV is '05. There was one in between that. Everyone's forgotten you copped a belting in the last one.”
What exactly did they think Hewitt would say? "Yes, the English are going to slaughter us" and how would a Murray v Hewitt match be like the ashes anyway?
I'm really annoyed that they asked Andy who he would be supporting. Do they ever ask random English sports stars who they would be supporting in a sporting event if Scotland were playing Spain, Germany etc etc. No, of course they don't. It's ridiculous.

I posted later in the thread showing how I changed my mind, it is indeed a nasty trap

A very apt answer but one I fear would cause the same kind of response. I really do hate all this anti stuff and I'm bloody English!
