Andy Murray is though to the Miami quarter-finals after a comfortable 6-3 6-4 win against Gilles Simon.

The match opened with a gruelling 17-minute hold for Murray but, fortunately, that was as tough as it got for the Scot on serve. Simon opened with a straightforward hold of his own but was then broken to love. Murray was largely in control from then on.

Murray will play Janko Tipsarevic in the quarter-finals.

A fantastic display. What could have been a real banana skin proved to be a simply a difficult first game. A MUCH needed performance!

Enjoyed that match.  Wonder if that first game is something of a record?  Very pleased to see Andy play so well, but do feel a little sorry for Simon - after all these defeats he must feel he's a beaten man before he even steps on court against him.

They have a filter pmreraomgd to block questions with certain words but nobody knows what all the words are or Yahoo changes them occasionally. But,  yeah, they love censorship here.
