Andy got through and that is the main thing. Some of the other players have been ill so maybe something going around. A win is a win no matter how difficult. Andy always seems to be a slow starter but he got through and that is the main thing. Tomorrow is another day.

I agree, winning was the most important thing today, and Berrer looked a lot better than when I've watched him previously. Hopefully Andy will find his true form with one or two matches under his belt and have a good week. I saw a brief clip of his after match interview and he didn't look very well, hopefully it's a 24 hour bug or something.

Andy's comments (From the beeb):-

"It was a frustrating match because I was up a break in the second set, and I gave it back," said Murray.

"In the third set, again I went up a break and gave the break straight back. So I could have made it a little bit easier for myself if I played a bit better."

Murray is in the same half of the draw as Djokovic, with Roger Federer also in Dubai, but Rafael Nadal is absent.

Murray looked ragged and at times his movement appeared labored in the midday heat, but he later revealed that he didn't "feel great"' at the start of the match and at times felt nauseous on court.

Could be a combination of "something going around" or eaten & the heat. As usual he got stuck in there in the worst time slot. Hope he gets a better one next.

In one report I read Andy said he thought the nausea might be due to him having over-hydrated before the match.  Hope it's the latter, but then, Gasquet has flu ... and we all know how infectious that is.  Such a shame if he is ill after all that hard work with Lendl, and that would undoubtedly explain his shows of frustration during the match.
