Murray to face top seed Ljubicic

Scottish teenager Andy Murray will play top seed and home favourite Ivan Ljubicic in the first round of the Zagreb indoor tournament, which starts tomorrow.
No matter how much we want to him to win, it is very unlikely for Andy to beat the top seed, a top 10 player and on a surface that has been specifically chosen to help the home players.

It is a tough draw for wild card Murray, beaten 6-1 6-3 6-3 by Argentine Juan Ignacio Chela in the first round on his debut in the Australian Open.

Croatian number one Ljubicic, who won two ATP titles in eight finals and finished in the top 10 for first time in 2005, has already won in Chennai this year and reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open before bowing out in five sets to eventual finalist Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus.

Ljubicic is a hero in his homeland after leading his country to its first-ever Davis Cup title, winning 11 of his 12 matches along the way - the best record since John McEnroe won 12 out of 12 in 1982 for the United States.

Oh my, another tough, tough match for Andy.  However, it'll be yet another learning curve for him. Personally, I think this year will be more important in terms of the experience Andy builds up from his matches, rather than what the results say.  Every experience he has will help his future career.

As always, we wish you well Andy.... your time will come! goodjob

This is so unfair. poor andy. y should a wildcard entry have to face the top seed in the first round?

thats the luck of the draw unfortunately.andy has to work his way through these sort of things till he becomes one of the seeds and gets wildcards and qualifiers in the first rounds
