Nigel, fantastic 01/04/2012 joke. Everyone was fooled for at least 60 seconds, including me. Please all note Nigel's timing at 12.50am, ie 50 minutes into 1 April.

This joke stands alongside Andy's last year's April Fool comment that he was about to appoint Barry Cowan as his permanent coach.

Well done, our man.

I cannot imagine Lendl using the word imposter for the likes of Rod Laver etc. It is an April Foolprank for sure.
I cannot imagine Ivan speaking in this way about some of these great tennis players - very good spoof but.........!

Well done MW for releasing this exclusive to the world - a real scoop!  No Andy to watch for the whole of April - what are we poor fans to do?  Fantasy football here I come!

Bl**dy brilliant Nigel!

I must say you really had me going there for a while at 8 am on a Sunday, blearly eyed, drinking black coffee and eating my soft boilded egg!

Cleaver of you to sow the first seeds the other day as well..... "inside information .... I cant reveal my source"

Strange things have happened at this Masters, but I though immediately, how stupid to release this before the final today.

Your a gradely Northern lad with a wicked sense of humour! naughty

I did believe this at first and still see it a plausible. However, it's April 1st! And Andy has been known for pulling little pranks like this in the past, and isn't it strange how it is only this site that has reported on this "press conference".

I might be wrong, but I'll take my chances!
You were the first to smell A RAT. Congratulations!

At the same time ...  welcome to the mad mad world of MW  wave

I know I'm paranoid. But am I paranoid enough?

I think this is a big mistake: Lendl's dislike of clay is legendary. What do the rest of your team say? I think you are pretty good on clay and, like someone else mentioned, having no match practice for this length of time? It's mad and you'll lose a huge number of points.
