I didn't realise Andy himself had said that about for first time feeling he belonged in GS final because that's exactly what I felt watching him ie that he looked as though he felt he belonged.  I think he did believe he could win at the outset but I fear once he lost 2nd set having played so well in it and the roof came over that belief was probably dented.  Hardly surprising really.
I believe that losing that 2nd set probably was the crucial turning point in this match, even if there had been no rain delay, because Fed was beginning to get his dander up, and when that happens he ups his game, but closing the roof undoubtedly was the final straw because Andy would have time to dwell on that loss.  The day will surely come though when such things won't trouble him.

I found it interesting when Pat Mac said at the start of the match how the roof being open was going to be a distinct advantage to Andy and when Fowler asked why, he said it's because Federer tends to serve better under controlled environment and plays better too. I do think the match was sort of lost after the 2nd set but still, I guess we'll never find out what would have happened had their not been any rain delay and no closing of the roof. Anyway, perhaps it was just meant to be that way.

I think it was meant to be, EJ.  Andy had already made Wimbledon history part 1 by reaching the final.  I don't think he was quite ready to make history part 2.

I used to watch Top Gear all the time when I lived in UK, and loved JC.
He can bog off now.
Shame and Shameful.

I agree, he makes contraversial statements to draw attention to himself - never could stand him.

Isn't being a f**king nob his sole purpose in life? The more people he can offend, the better. Google Jeremy Clarkson nob, you get 2,930,000 results.

Another version of this article (in the Daily Star) includes
The TV motormouth, 52, also hit out at last week’ flood victims for “blubbing in public”.

The Top Gear star said: “It’s like eating a horse. Something that only foreigners do.”
He was hoping that the Scottish star would mark his defeat to Roger Federer, 31, by slamming his opponent in the face with a chair.

......and about the flood victims he said: “Fat people are to be found standing in front of their moist sofas sobbing as they explain how the flood waters came all the way up to their knees.

“It’s sick-inducing and should be banned from the airwaves.”

I saw that article by Clarkson as well. He has posted previous articles on various subjects he is an arse and should keep quite as he is always putting his foot in it. Zip it Clarkson.
