Really? Where in Edinburgh would be suitable for holding an indoor event?

The indoor courts at Meadowbank? - but the C of E Council are planning to demolish the complex soon.

I think the Braehead Arena is the only real suitable venue for the tournament in Scotland, even then, it's not a great facility.

I think they could possibly turn of of the venues getting built for the Commonwealth Games into an indoor tennis venue.

Inclusion of tennis in the Commonwealth Games is under consideration for this year's event in Dehli. If it is, and proves to be a success, it would presumably be included in the 2014 Games, so a suitable venue would need to be built anyway.

Hmm. Seems a bit harsh to make them do another major event so soon after the Wintet Olympics

As I can't find any further info on this, it looks as though nothing has been decided.

There are 3 futures events: 2 indoors in Scotstoun in January and October and one outdoors on the green clay in May at Craiglockheart in Edinburgh.
