I’m not disputing that the fact that Andy has the knee condition, but It was widely reported at the time of Andy’s withdrawal from the tie with Argentina it that it was to prevent aggravation of an Ankle injury.
Which some may have found very convenient when you consider the air travel that would be avoided.

I don't recall anything about an ankle injury. Murray said from day one it was to prevent injuring his knee. If it was reported otherwise, I guess the media got it wrong.

Did Andy actually say he was pulling out purely because of the change of surface?
I always thought it was excused by some pre-existing injury / illness imagined or otherwise that would be aggrivated if he played that conveniently showed up at the right time
But I could be wrong and can't be arsed looking back, so feel free to correct me, as my memory is not what it once was.
As for people giving Andy stick about withdrawing from the Davis Cup.
I would not fault him if he never played another Davis cup tie again, waste of time and effort as far as I can see, and so what if the pissers in the face paint who attend such events go in a huff about it, no great loss.
Oh and before I forget the whiney anti-Scottish f**kers who attend Wimbledon can piss off whilst we are at it.
That smug knob jockey John Inverdale, another one on the f**k off train out of here.
The leather faced whore who popped Cliff Richards cherry, Sue what ever her name is, yep you’ve guessed it, she can piss off as well.
lol .......Oh for goodness sake - stop beating about the bush and say what your really think !!

No news on Andy's test results today, to me that suggests he doesn't have mono.

Am disappointed that he's not playing in DC, but having watched his two matches in Dubai, it's no surprise. He looked totally wiped out. It was obvious there was something very far wrong with him
Just hope he can recover from whatever it is quickly....... but I can't shake off the feeling that whatever he has is not going to be easily sorted. Whatever is ailing him he's had since the Verdasco match in Aus..... and that's not a good sign.
On a lighter note..... Miles McClagan is drop dead gorgeous in the flesh..... and Andy's gf is not as pretty as she looks on telly....... or maybe I'm just a bitch!
Elly, back from Dubai and I agree with you about Andy's virus. Some do last a couple of weeks certainly but glandular fever is a possibility and I've it too aqnd know how long it takes to clear your system. The symptoms can also return if you contract another virus and you think you have the same thing again, it's just a weird factor about this particular fever and I do hope he hasn't got it. I'm just catching up on this thread having had a few days away with a family funeral.

We're all worried by his virus and the lengthy time it is taking him to get over it. At least the media don't seem to be ranting like they did last time. Some of these tests do take a time to prove and I really hope we hear something conclusive soon. Elly must have had a much closer insight into how he was at Dubai and I find it quite amazing that he still managed to win his matches.
