Hang on, how can you play for Great Britain and NOT represent England?

You're also representing Scotland.

By the way, I'm a fiercely patriotic Scot. I'm just bemused by your logic.

Grabcopy, the world doesn't just revolve around England. Your getting as bad as the Americans.  There's 4 nations make up the British isles. They are called, Scotland,Ireland,England & Wales.  GB changed their name along time ago and now call themselves the UK the reason being to include the surrounding Islands and a name which l personally prefer.

I know, I know. I hate England as much as anyone and I'm English through and through (with a smattering of German). But, by representing GB, he is by necessity turning out for England (and mainly England at that, since the population of Scotland and Wales is so small).

Shame he had to withdraw but you can understand why and the decision is not unexpected.

Andy does represent England when he plays for GB, albeit in a very minor way.

England is part of the union, Andy represents the union, ergo, Murray represents those English pigdogs. (Monty Python reference, not baiting)

Really disappointing that Andy won't play as he hasn't played a competitive singles match in Scotland since Edinburgh in 2003. Quite weird to think I was at his 2nd last singles event in Scotland more than 5 yrs ago.

Shame, as it would be a great homecoming after reaching the US Open final.

Hope the LTA do the decent thing and offer customers 1/2 refunds on production of their ticket in light of both the credit crunch and Andy not being able to headline.

£14 including Ticketmaster booking fee would be more than the going rate to watch a challenger and you could probably watch two guys ranked 250+ playing each other in a futures event for nothing.
