MurraysWorld announces new sponsorship

Quote

MurraysWorld is pleased to announce that tennis social networking website 10sworld.com has become our new exclusive sponsor.

Set up in 2005, MurraysWorld has always been a strictly non-profit organisation and we continue to believe that banner ads are detrimental to an enjoyable browsing experience. Therefore, sponsorship plays an essential role in supporting the financial costs of running this website.

Our new sponsorship agreement with 10sworld.com will ensure that we remain the number one website for Andy Murray fans and we look forward to a long and prosperous relationship.

Mark, does this mean you are about to retire from MW or take a leisurely back seat?

Great that you/we continue to be non-profit and that the new sponsor is all about tennis.

My wallet tells me its life is easier at least.

There has been no change of circumstances with the running of this website and the sponsor will play no role with that side of things. We simply finished our sponsorship with another company a few months ago and now we have partnered with 10sworld.

Mark - why don't you ask for donations to keep the site running?  I, for one, would be happy to contribute, and I'm sure many others would be too.  If keeping this going is costing you money, then that's not fair.

I'd be willing to chip in a few bucks Mark

I've never felt comfortable with donations - to me it gives an image of a website being unprofessional with an unstable future, when in reality our future will always be secure.

I will look into this though and maybe there is a way to do it that avoids my concerns above. Thank you both for offering.

I too mark would be happy to part with a few bucks, have you considered a nominal membership fee simply to cover the running costs of this site, paid up front yearly by us MW members?

While I agree that it shouldn't be compulsory,  I too would be happy to contribute.  It never occurred to me that you carried some of the cost personally Mark.  So if you can find a way that those of us who want to can contribute without threatening the professionalism of the site, that would be great.
