BB It's possible that Madrid was played a week earlier last year so fed's 1000 points would have fallen off on Monday?

Thanks Ruthie I never thought to check the date . So let's hope Andy does better against Simon or the points will soon disappear next week

A further comment I notice that Andy is now 900 points ahead of Federer
Andy being 8660 to Federer's 7760 on the live-tennis.eu site Please could someone explain how that can happen?

On the live ranking page they take off points from last year at the start of the tournament, then add any gained this year after each match.

In the official ATP rankings they come off after the full year, so usually at the end of the tournament, and are replaced by this year's points. They are updated most Mondays.

Hope that makes sense!

Thanks for the good information Elena! Exciting times, I hope Andy goes deep, as I liked his nr.2 status Smile

Thanks, I enjoy trying to make sense of it all. Most of it is pretty logical really, and the ATP website does give a load of information.
