well done andy..the way he produced such sparkling tennis in the latter stages of the match surely sends out a warning to nadal that there's even better to come. i expect it to be very tough, a 5 setter with andy just coming out on top.
if he does come through it's interesting that lying in wait will be one of the 2 players who have defeated andy in the last couple of slams and andy will be ready to avenge either of those defeats. i think i would prefer the less experienced cilic in the semis should he get there. Think

Highscore 5976!!! Both Andy and Laura may well beat me at tennis, but I have kept some of my dignaty!!!
It is probably the most infuriating game ever invented.

If he defeats Rafa - and on the form last night I truly believe he can - then he will go all the way to the final.
C'mon Andeeee - you can do it  -  you will do it
Its a long time since I've seen such concentration and focus

Many congratulations Andy.  Andy played very well to take the first set to blunt Isner confidence and then finished him off in the remaining 2 sets.

Andy's ground strokes have real speed and penetration power now to overcome Nadal.

Fortunately, as Nadal tends not to punish the 2nd serve,  Andy will be able to revert back to his powerful 1st serve to get some free points.

The only thing that Nadal can take advantage of is that Andy gets nervous when things become tight.
e.g.

1) First set, serving at 5-6, Andy had to save a set point after missing 2 easy FH and BH whereas Isner only got to 15 (or 30 in 1 game) at the previous 5 service games.  Andy wanted to win points quickly so he reverted back to powerful first serves, missing them, and allowing Isner to unleash his attack on Andy's weaker 2nd serve.

2) Second set 5-3, serving for the set, Andy had to defend 3 BPs but managed to save them all.

If Andy can control his emotions and overcome nerves to play as normal in tight situations he will become unbeatable in my opinion.

the match was great against inser!
i thought he'd win in 3 yay

but im not sure tbh(with nadals match) , i think if nadals aggressive and puts alot of power into his shots they will overcome murrays defensive play same thing happend at the us open with cilic , i know hes been playing more attacking but he seems to revert to playing defensive when things get tough... so if murrays attacking and pushes nadal back i think he will win but if he gets nervous and just puts it back into play then no nervous

i still think murray can win! he just needs to be on top of his game. he should be able to break rafas serve since it hasnt looked strong , im just worried since murray sometimes tightens up and goes defensive when it gets tough but i still think hes got a good chance of winning  Smile

wave Hi everyone.  Not been back from Oz long but had fab time there and was great to see Andy twice cmon yeah  This match was brilliant!  I don't want to go through a live tie-break ever again!  Nice to see my presence had a positive effect on Andy.  Will try and post some photos soon (though mine aren't very good) but my friend does have better ones.
