Yes I think most of us will be very happy tonight. The 2nd round is over and he will be more settled. I am sure he would think us all mad if he saw our posts. Yes Andy winning is great and cheers us up.

First win since 2009, yikes if I'd known that I'd have been even more

After 2009, it wasn't important...he won it, then it became too soon after the Aussie open and he had bigger fish to try and fry.

Touch the sky - and touch it he did.

I was really glad I had to go out and do something else completely, which helped take my mind off it. And with perfect timing he'd just won when I turned the pc on but must admit I was very when I did

I had to go out but managed to watch the entire 1st set scores on a borrowed computer before the owner wanted it back to shut it down. Couldn't relax though, so eventually phoned a friend to find out the final result!
Hate livescores. Too much tension involved waiting for those numbers to change. I'm thinking CBS, the host broadcasting company for this tournament, will have a few questions to answer as to just why they denied tennis lovers the right to watch the first half of R2 of a Masters in which the world Nos.2 and 4 were playing, not to mention a few other top players.
So it's Raonic up next. This should be an interesting encounter, especially as they've never played each other. After the disasters of the last two years in Miami, plus another early exit at IW, it's made me feel even more relieved that Andy got his first match under his belt so comfortably and this should have boosted his confidence. He'll need it - Raonic isn't going to be a pushover - and I'm going to buy me a big supply of Bach's Rescue Remedy!

Could you send some to Andy Aileen? Yes I think tomorrow might be nerve-shredding time again but if Andy is on his game he should be able to beat Raonic ok.

Yes you need to have nerves of steel to be a Murray fan. As you say Ruthie its like riding a roller coaster. I think a lot of people upset because we could not see the match being played. I am glad Andy won and we are not sitting here moping because he lost.

Raonic retired, apparently with an ankle injury, three games into the 1st set of his doubles. Tweet posted on the match thread - "Raonic looked fine. Suddenly at 2-1 changeover he calls for trainer. Retires on the spot. Let's hope its precautionary."

I agree that Andy oftens does best when he's not expected to do well, I just hope he's really focused right from the off, and doesn't take a while to get charged up. Good luck today.

I hope that Raonic's slight ankle injury does not put Andy off, and he keeps his focus.
