The withdrawl late points penalty stuff. The tornament would have to indicate if the reason for withdrawl is acceptable or not, I would assume as there seems to be a little discrepancy, before ATP take formal action.

Well I definately don't see him at Indy. a) becouse of what the tournament did to him last year, b) cause he won't need the points or practice and c) because it'd mean 4 weeks on the trot and that has greater implications now with him getting deeper into tournaments.

a) I don't think that's the tournament's fault.  His team should have been aware of the situatio before entering.
b) Points no, but practice maybe.  He won't have played for the whole of July otherwise, and i don't think it will be good to have such a long break, or that he'd want a 5/6 week gap.
c) It will still only be 3, there is a gap between Indy and Washington.

I'm still not sure if he will enter though, the only possible reason would be to bridge the gap between Wimbledon on 22 June to Washington on 4 August.

Don't see that he's gonna need to. He'll have played 7 matches at Wimbledon so he'll be needing the rest. Especially with the prospect of all those matches in a row looming. The lengthy break gives him a chance to do a bit more of the physical stuff.

Has Andy confirmed Valencia?

I would assume that Rafa would opt for this if fit.

I would much prefer Basel and Andy bending Federer over in his home event. clap

Andy's on the entry list for the Tokyo 500 event the week before Shanghai. He's 2nd on the entry list behind Federer.

Well, start with the mandatory tourneys - that'll give you 2/3 of the schedule. Pre-Australian Open is known. Then follow last year for the rest - won't get more accurate then that...
