Federer did seem to play mind games before the match in his various interviews and the British and American press agree with that at least. However, I don't think the 150,000 was part of it, seemed like an innocent joke that was not premeditated to cause Andy to struggle.

Front page of The Metro was a big picture of Murray crying, I'm sure that's the same for many newspapers and I think it will help his image
Yes I think so too. With any luck. Though, one of the guys I work with said "yeah but serves him right for wearing a Paraguay shirt all them years ago"
Theres still alot of ignorant people out there.

Anytime you want to try and tear me a new one, just name the time and place, otherwise just Stick to lying on your back, popping out babies and breastfeeding them on buckfast and nicotine, chlamydiabreath!
Cheer up, at least murray is Number 1 at one thing...losing all his slam finals to Federer!

Fed probably has 2 years left. Players generally go into a pretty swift decline at around 30, usually preceded by a year or two (like now) when they hit top form, like a swansong, a last hurrah.
Andy will be peaking at 24 then. But you have to ask: who else will be coming off the production line? There'll always be someone.
What really worries me is that a Connors or a Wilander or an Agassi or Becker on those set points wouldn't have dumped that backhand in the net or missed that makeable volley. It's about star quality, mental fortitude, the X Factor, call it what you will. It's an attitude. Does he really have it?
In the Nadal match, Murray belted a smash directly at Nadal in the warm-up, trying to send him a message. I thought it was a bit embarrassing - you don't see Federer or Djokovic doing stuff like that. It rang a bit hollow.

Murray has commented before how Nadal likes to do certain things on court to try and intimidate him, Murray was probably just doing it back. I think they really like and respect each other so doubt Nadal took offence.

Andy's ranking now #3, just 500 points behind Djoko.

I sort of doubt that he meant it. The commentators made too much of it.

Hi Mark! I love Fed as a player and as a person too. But I find pretty hard to condone each and every action of any player, even if the player happens to be my favourite, like Roger. You may not believe me, but I realy like Murray and would surely hope he wins a slam as soon as possible. I love your guy Murray also. He's excellent in my view, actually once he wins his first slam, I believe he'd win some others too. I'd be completely rooting against Fed if he happens to face Murray anytime this year, so long as Murray's not win his first slam. I am desperate to see Murray holding a GS trophy.

I was also not at all happy seeing Murray lose in straight sets. I would have celebrated like crazy if Murray had won. But hope his time will come very soon and I would enjoy that moment very very much.

Hey, I know what you mean... I've critised Andy's actions plenty of times, for example I was strongly against him releasing a biography because it seemed like it was just for the money, turns out he regrets it now.

Interesting to see how some people have done a 360 on Murray due to the crying,
"That single moment of emotion of Andy has completely changed my opinion of him now, I have a lot of respect for him now, I was just waiting to see something like that."
"He's always annoyed me, but his speech was more than admirable, it was mature yet he still showed his emotions. I've much more respect for him now, and wish him luck in the future."

Mark, honestly speaking the reason why most of the fans of Federer and Nadal do not like Murray is that they don't want their guys to be challenged by him. God knows Murray can beat both of them. I knew he would beat Nadal some day in a slam and lo and behold, it happened as early as 2008 US Open. Now it's only a matter of time before Murray beats Federer too. I believe in Murray.
