Andy Murray was on top form in his first match of 2009 as he annihilated James Blake, 6-2 6-2.

The Scot is now through to the semi-finals of the Capitala Tennis Championships in Abu Dhabi. Murray said after the match that he played much better than he expected.

It's the first time I've played James in about three years so I expected it to be a tough match but I played much better than expected for the first match of the year.
Murray will now face Roger Federer in the semi-finals on Friday.

That should be a fun match.

We played a few times last year and I played well against him but this is great preparation for the Australian Open. I'll try and keep the same form for tomorrow.

I'm just watching the match back right now. I'm so excited for Andy this year. He's looking as good as he ever has. yay

The pleasure of watching this is doubled..... James Blake is bloody good looking! lol

Alas, I think the only tennis I will get to see soon is the Aussie Open - I have friends going the middle weekend too! Maybe me next year! :crossfinger:
