Andy Murray will kick off his 2009 season at Doha when he takes on world no-43, Albert Montanes.

The Scot is in the bottom half of the draw at the Qatar Open with Roger Federer as his likely semi-finals opponent and Rafael Nadal as a potential finalist.

Murray has decided to also compete in the doubles where he plays with his winter training partner Ross Hutchins against Christopher Cas and Philipp Kohlschreiber on Monday.
