Following on from some postings earlier... interested to know whether you're a dog or a cat person? If you have preference what is it based on. Or is there anyone out there who likes both equally? (Clydey - as you can see, have not gone away to do something more useful!)

Really? How so? Is there any animal you feel comfortable with? I'm left at home with my daughter's hamster. He is dead cute, and I never thought I could grow so fond of a rodent! Having said that... have liked my share of rats in my time

Nope... i have come to realise that i am scared of all animals
Except goldfish.... no idea why, i'm just scared of them biting/scratching/crushing(i almost got run over by a horse once) me. So i hate all animals.
Strangely though, I am very against any cruelty to animals as well - i'm a vegetarian as i hate the idea of eating something that has been murdered just for me to eat. So my views are a bit strange!

Not strange at all... just 'cos you're scared doesn't mean you would want to do them harm and that's very understandable. I am very scared of dogs - despite my Avatar. My brother's dogs I know well and feel comfortable with.

I love both dogs and cats - had four cats at one time and the large black one was called Macenroe!

That's so great to hear that you love both. So many people just seem to like one or the other. Was your cat Macenroe very bad tempered?!

No - he was the most adorable pc ....... I had two separate generations of cats - boy and a girl roughly the same age, and then another boy and a girl the same age, but several years younger than the first set. I have never had a bad tempered nore mean animal - they have all been wonderful.
I've loved (small) animals all my life and they all like me too. Don't like horses - they have big teeth and big feet and toss you off if they have to go by pigs, and other weird things.

I have had numerous cats... used to foster them for the Cats Protection League. Sadly, they all seemed to die on me. Two died of kidney failure... it was horrible. Having to tell my kids the pet died was really awful.... my daughter accused me of lying while her tears flowed into her rice krispies!

OMG .......... I just couldn't do anything as brave as fostering cats - it would break my heart.
Your poor little girl - poor you, having to tell her.
