New game! You have to morph one word into another through individual iterations by either:

- Changing one letter in the word
- Removing one letter from the word
- Adding one letter to the word

THE RULES ARE: You can only do one of the above each word iteration and all intermittent words must be real words in the dictionary. Some examples:

Change PEG into GRAPE

PEG
GAPE  (+A)
GRAPE  (+R)

Change LOTTERY into HUGGED

LOTTERY
UTTERLY  (O to U)
GUTTERY  (L to G)
GUTTER  (-Y)
GUTTED  (R to D)
TUGGED  (T to G)
HUGGED  (T to H)

To add to the challenge you ideally should aim to morph the word in as few iterations as possible but you don't have to, you can use as many as you like. Note with your suggested words you can make it very easy or very hard for the next poster. But if you plan on using crazy words make sure first it's possible to achieve (ie you can do it yourself), we don't want people suggesting something like "change BOOK into JUXTAPOSE" when it's impossible to make a change up to the word JUXTAPOSE.

Anyway to start: Change BREAD INTO BUTTER

I'm not sure of the rules?  You can scramble the letter each time?

Yes you can scramble the letters each time and each time you can either add, subtract or change one letter.

It's not always easy, but it's fun and can be a challenge.

Some tips: look at the letters that are different in the end word to the start word then each time look to be either adding a wanted letter and/or removing an unwanted letter. For example for BREAD into BUTTER you need to remove the AD from BREAD and add in the UTT from BUTTER. So to start for example you could do one of the following:

- You could look if you can replace a D in BREAD with a T, which you could do making the word TABER.
- Or you could just look to see if you could remove the D from BREAD, which you could do making the word BEAR.
- Or you could look to see if you could add a U to BREAD, which you could do to make EARBUD.

There's lot's of ways you can go about it. You don't have to try and take a direct route either, if you can't see any changes you can make towards the word then just make a random change and see if it helps. For example you could just randomly add an N to BREAD to make BARNED, then from BARNED you could change the A with a U to make BURNED and now getting closer and it's probably easier with these letters.
