This might sound funny to some, but I have to got to the dentist today for a scrape and polish, and I am bricking it. I have always had a fear of dentists, will be taking 2 paracetamol after breakfast and 2 just before leaving the house, can't stand it I feel sick!

I know how you feel, I once took my blood pressure before going to the dentist and it was through the roof! Mind you it kept my mind off the dentist! Good luck, you'll be fine.

Worried, been unemloyed and grown lazy. Got temp work which will take a hour and half to get there one way. And I'm back at college two nights a week and starting the gym, I'm gonna be shattered! Major shock to the system.

Nope
Going to write to the Housing Association MD and going to talk to the council to see whether they are obligated to sell it to me over a commercial buyer. Just going to delay as long as possible. Then once a new deadline is given to me, I will tell them I'm pulling out and hope that might make them change their mind.
If it comes to actually pulling out, I will have lost hundreds of pounds in solicitor fees. Apparently it's perfectly fine to be missold a property up until the final stage of contract exchange. Pretty unethical but legal.

So many more loopholes in the English system than the Scottish

Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

I sympathise. But a scrape and polish really is nothing. I've been putting off an extraction for over a year now because I am utterly terrified and my dentist won't provide any sedation. I need to be knocked out for this!

Yup - move to Scotland! Seriously, though, the English conveyancing system stinks. And it's no surprise to learn that some English solicitors want to adopt the Scottish one. But the same goes for winding up estates in England. An elderly aunt died in London in February leaving a small estate (no property involved) and a very simple Will dividing it between her nephews and nieces, yet six months down the line we're still waiting - and the last I heard was that the Will had only just gone to Probate! In Scotland such an estate would probably have been done and dusted in two months because there is a fast-track method in place here specifically for estates like hers.

Sounds complicated, however I am envious of your ability do be getting your own place. Even if I got a good job now I wouldn't be able to get a mortgage for 6 years
renting it is for me.

I spent this morning cuddling a one week old baby (she's so cute
) and this afternoon at a funeral, the two extremes.

Yeah I guy from church whose' been around my whole life, but not really close. He was 69 and it was a heart attack, a big shock. They're a close family though so they've all abnded round, still very sad though, especially for his wife and kids

Yeah it's tough for the ones left behind. And 69, isn't that old really so it's a shame. The only good thing about funerals is the food afterwards, I love sandwiches and cakes
