^ I've heard them all and am a very big fan of AR Rahman. Not for just his music, but also his personality.

My uncle (not Mark) was college mates with him and is a music director himself. Whenever he goes to meet him, I beg him to take me along just to see him and talk to him. A very down to earth man and a very, very, shy guy.  His voice is just divine and I love to see the behind-the-scenes music work which goes on.

I do not actually like all his old songs but many of the recent ones are very good.

You know what, when I went to his house for the first time, I wanted to see his Oscar. I thought he would have a separate room for his trophies but when he took me to his store room, he pulled out an old polythene bag and took out the Oscar trophy from that. w00t

Slumdog Millionaire was utterly amazing. Went to see it at cinemas and left mind blown.

Frankly speaking, if an Indian director had directed this movie, it would not have been there in the Oscars race. Same with Life of Pi also.

I'm not too sure. I remember another Indian, Resul Pookutty winning it for sound mixing or something.

Not gettin emotional and all...I'm not that stupid.

Sheesh, I hate it when you say I'm immature and young and blah blah blah. And especially, the way you say it.

"Eventually she'll learn to choose wisely." - You think choosing of songs for me is gonna change when I become as old as you? I really dont think so. My taste is a mix of everything. I like fast songs and slow songs. I like meaningful songs and time-pass songs. I like dance songs and rap etc etc. But there are many of these kinds that I dont like too. So, that doesnt mean I'm 'entitled to like everything I see'.

Also, I'm part time choreographer, so maybe in that way, I'm entitled to like dance songs.

I have a really broad taste in music too. If you look back at some of the stuff I've posted in this thread, you'll see that.

That's cool you're a choreographer, Sabine!  As a kid, I went to classes for ballet, tap and Highland. When I was a teenager, I was part of a dance group and we would choreograph our own stuff and perform at school and at dances.
Happy days.

And a famous Uncle-friend too? You rock, girly. highfive

That's awesome, Linda. Smile
Ballet and tap look really nice but never really tried. My main thing is Bollywood, hip hop or free style.

And one more thing, I have 2 famous uncles- don't count out Mark!
