She is 16. That "generally" means she won't have been anywhere near a hen night.........

And "coming from you" was a mild insult, not specific to "hen nights" but to general intelligence (i.e. I was saying you were thick)

Who doesn't get that?! Wink

I've never been to a hen night in my life but I've always known what one was.

And the whole me being "thick" again?  =  yawn

Neil no need for the insults huh... first you call me a pri*k and now Amy's thick? naughty

But anyway, if she is only 16 then I don't think that is particularly shocking... also might have something to do with her upbringing.

I was actually making the point that she didn't realise I was calling her thick was the same/similar to the girl not knowing what a hen party was. Personally, I thought it was obvious what I was getting at just like she thinks it is obvious the girl should no what a hen party is Smile

Doesn't make them thick because they were never were told what a hen party was - unfortunately many people confuse knowledge with intelligence which is a shame.

Agree. Very insightful and spot on. Knowledge and intelligence are definitely not the same.

Well it happens to everyone so get over it.  I got **** ripped into me because I didn't know what Gammon was.  I've always called pork "pork" and I've not eaten pork since I was 13 years old so I've never taken an interest in other meats because theres no point because I'd never eat it.  So if I got stick for that I can give stick for someone not knowing what a Hen Party is.

I've never heard of gammon either, although from your post I gather it's something I can't eat so hence I've never discussed it. lol

Treat others as you wish to be treated yourselves.

So because someone else gave you stick, that gives you the right to judge this girl's "knowledge/intelligence" tsk tsk.

It's fine to have a bit of banter if someone has had a "blonde" moment or been genuinely stupid, but just because they don't know something doesn't mean they should be ridiculed. Pretty pathetic reasoning....

Let's just relax for a second and stop taking this so seriously...

Amy probably knows based on other reasons that this girl is probably not particularly bright but simply used the reason given earlier as further proof but that was a simply a mistake. It's not exactly a big deal and it's a very common mistake. She immediately accepted that lack of knowledge does not mean someone is lacking intelligence so is it worth dragging this out? Smile

I don't actually. I can't recall a time (while sober I might add - it's more than likely I've ripped into someone while under the influence) that I have slagged someone off for not knowing something. I prefer to correct people's lack of knowledge than ridicule them about lacking it. It makes for much better conversation.....
