Nope, Di Stefano never played at a World Cup and although Puskas did play for Spain at the 1962 World Cup, he didn't score. So back to thinking.

Must be Yugoslavia or Russia like I thought before.

I'm sure it must be someone who played for Croatia in 1998 and Yugoslavia in 1990. The years are close enough for it to be possible. Possibly 2002 aswell but certainly not 2006, although I'm sure I'd remember it if it was that recent anyway.

So going by the belief it was a 1998 Croatian player, is it Boban? He was the captain in 1998 if I recall correctly. Or possibly Prosinecki. Another senior/key player whose name I recall. Getting close now?

Prosinecki is right, scoring in '90 for Yugoslavia and '98 for Croatia. Going by memory, he also played in '02 but didn't score.

cmon yeah
Very happy I got that. I was thinking about it all afternoon trying to remember 1998 Croatia players and besides Suker, those were the only 2 I came up with! lol
Well and Bilic of course but as he was a defender I thought the other 2 were more likely.

I believe there's only one league team in Britain, whose name doesn't contain any of the letters from the word 'football' in it - which team am I talking about? Very Happy

Highland League doesn't count.

Nope, good thinking but they are internationally known as Glasgow Celtic.
