The trick quesion was Geoff Hurst.
He played one county championship game for Essex as wicket keeper and never scored any runs. Of course, he scored a hat-trick for England. Very Happy

Ok, Anelka has won the Premiership, FA Cup, Champions League and European Championship as now established, but who is the only other player to have done so?

I think I've got it, and I'm quite chuffed if it is. Very Happy

Schemichel?

Denmark won the 92 EC, he surely would have won the others with Man Utd.

I have a good one, but if you're not a Rangers fan, it's hard to get but I'll throw it out there.

How many Rangers players (past or present) have a Champions League winners medal? Oh and name them. Very Happy

Answers below. Smile

Pedro Mendes (Porto)
Rino Gattuso (AC Milan)
Giovanni Van Bronckhorst (Barca)
Stefan Klos (Dortmund)
Basle Boli (Marseille)
Sergio Porrini (Juventus)
Ronald De Boer (Ajax)

Just so we can get another question going until the Rangers fans come online:

Which current player was once brought on in an international match as a replacement for his Father?!

I'm off to bed so if you get that one, here's another:

Which 2 players played in the both last FA Cup final and the last England international at the old Wembley?

That's not how the game works! And this isn't a football quiz!

It had to be you. Technically that's not how the game works, but it's how we've been doing it for the last hour or so for a bit of fun. As General Knowledge, surely any topic goes doesn't it?

The first one is a very common quiz question, it's Eidur Gudjohnsen.
The second one, I know the final was between chelsea and Villa, and the last international was england germany, i think. Was dennis wise still playing for england? So probably him and southgate.

Yes it's Gudjohnsen. He was 17 at the time and his Father was 34. Apparently they were both annoyed they didn't get to play together. The head of the Iceland FA (later of West Ham fame) instructed the national coach they it should happen at home in their first World Cup qualifier 2 months later but unfortunately the younger Gudjohnsen got injured before that game and they never got another chance.

As for the 2nd question, Gareth Southgate is correct but Dennis Wise is not.
