Interesting, it's on my list
BTW, what's your favourite Dawkins book?
Probably The God Delusion. I like the pure logic of it.

Nice choice - that's what got me interested in his work and thank god for that because The Selfish Gene was life changing for me.

Nah - just like the expression although I was aware of the irony as I typed it

I'll be reading a book this week called "Dying to Be Me" by Anita Moorjani. It's a remarkable true story by the author who was about to die of cancer and was on her death bed. She was in coma for 30 hours and her family was preparing for her funeral during that time, as the doctors had written her completely off by then. It's about those 30 hours but with a bit of her background at first. Extremely worth reading since no matter what we see and what we believe, it's stories like this that can change one's perspective as a whole.

A very naughty book(s).
But my wee bugger of a son found out and sent me a youtube, and now I keep hearing Gilbert Gottfried's voice in my head and can't concentrate anymore.

"I was angry at the cruel joke we call life. I couldn't understand what it was all for. It seemed as though we lived for a few years, we learned from our struggles, and finally, when we got the hang of it, we ended up thrown on a fire in a wooden box. Surely it wasn't supposed to happen so soon. It all seemed so meaningless, somehow -- so pointless."

^ From the book you're reading.
I'm a stage 3B cancer survivor in remission, Emma.
Sure changed my outlook on life.

Yes, it's from the book I am reading. She has just found out about her cancer (stage 2A - I am guessing it's a bit of an initial stage? I haven't gone that far in the book yet where she would eventually die) and are going through all sorts of emotion - anger, dread, frustration, fear and desperation.
I didn't know you had cancer. Very sorry to hear it but also very glad that you're a survivor. I hope you live very, very long. I've lost both my parents to cancer so I guess I can feel a little but certainly not to the point a cancer patient would feel.

^ Truly and honestly very sorry to hear you lost both your parents to cancer, Emma. Seems everyone is touched by it in some way, shape or form. Hopefully they will find a cure soon.
My hubbster and I were married a few days before my bone marrow transplant bcos we weren't sure if I would survive. Our toddler son was at our wedding (thankfully he came along just bfore this sh*t happened... otherwise no babies for me.)
First thing I did in hospital was plaster the wall at the end of my bed with loads of photos of the important people in my life, and captured happy moments.
Still here.. still maintaining my sense of humour.. and still supporting Andy!
Let me know what you think of the book... not sure if I could read it.

That sounds really tough, Scot. And it sounds like as though you went through all that at young age and that's so sad. But what a big fighter you are, really.
While I love my life and love this beautiful place called Earth very much minus the likes of Lukas and the Bundies, I don't feel I am all that attached to this world. So in other words, I don't see myself fighting back and would prefer a very quiet exit. My mom died very young in fact. She wasn’t even 40 and I was just a teenager.
I really like the book and it’s really very well written but have only gone as far as 75 pages. I’ll let you know how I overall feel about the book once I finish it.

I did start to read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. But as usual when the tennis is in full swing books are thrown in the corner. I will take it when we go on holiday and I sure I will get it finnished. Will not see any tennis for a week (What a disaster) do not know how I will cope.
