I am reading all about Gautama Buddha. I already knew a few things about him but to read in details is just fascinating. He was born 2500 years ago and yet was so ahead of time and it's periods, and all his teachings are still in good standing.

Thanks, Littlebuddha. Just so you know I have always been totally aware of your name from the very beginning.
The book is by Deepak Chopra and it's such an interesting read. It received 4 ratings out of 5 and and I believe it was one of his New York best sellers. I am also planning to read about Jesus and Mohammad by the same Author after I finish this one. If nothing, at least from the historical point of view, they are all worth reading. One can learn so much about these great characters and their way of life.
Here's one review by one of the readers:
"This was a very entertaining and inspiring fictional account of the life of the Buddha. Most of the characters and events of the novel are from the passed down story of Buddha, but it is the depiction of his inner experience that is imagined. The scope of the novel is wonderful in that it starts with his life as Prince Siddartha, moves next into his years as Gautama the monk, then to his enlightenment and subsequent transformation into the Buddha. He was truly an Everyman, and his story demonstrates that of which we are all capable."

The Wood Beyond - Reginald Hill. An old book but his Dalziel character is superb and he has some great one-liners.

I'm currently reading The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling, being a fan of hers it is important I support ever book in some form or another despite all the negativity surrounding this novel. To be fair to her, she's done a brilliant job trying to stick the problems on current society in my head.
