Mark was president of some video game society at uni when I joined!
Sorry.. I just noticed I wasn't clear in who this was directed to.
So ... Mark and 'Sir'....our son is currently in middle of exams for 4 yr Bachelor of IT:Game Development.
In your opinion, does this mean he is wasting his time.. and we are wasting our money?
btw.. he would be mortified it he knew I was talking to you about this.. altho he does tolerate my love of Andy

Scotnadian:- This may be a little of topic. I have a son 25 and a daughter who is 23. My son went to Dundee University an got an MA Degree he wanted to be a town planner. But because of the economic situation councils who mainly employ town planners are not taking any on. So after working hard for his degree he has ended up working in a bank. It took him two years to find this half descent job. My daughter is doing a social work degree at the same university and goes into her 4th year in September. She has worked very hard and is a single parent who wants to have a good job to bring up her son. It makes you wonder we are told you have to work hard and get a good education. Leaving uni and ending up in jobs that are way below expectations. Bye the way Abertay uni in Dundee has a brilliant reputation for courses in Gaming and have created a few best selling games. Hope your son gets a good job when he finishes his uni course I hope he gets a good job after all his hard work.

^ Unlike Andy, were you 'fired up' on grass?

Is that your favourite surface, and did you win?

It's the surface I'm used to as its the one that's at my club. I won all but one or two of the sets. Also played a mixture of singles and doubles (though mainly singles).

You won 7 or 8 out of 9 sets then?.. sounds like a Mahut/Isner match.
I didn't get to see Andy's match yesterday. Did you, and what's your take on it? I'm genuinely interested in your opinion, Allan, because you actually play and understand the nuances of game.

Most of the sets I played were 6-1 or 6-0 so relatively short. I only seen the final set yesterday and Andy didn't look as confident/comfortable as he could have been though was getting there towards the end. He just played a really poor tie-break in the 3rd set.

Olympians out in force in Cambridge today (just going about their business).
I had the day off and what a gorgeous day it's been, considering we are still in winter!
Had a coffee, out in the sunshine, with my eldest daughter, and this chappie was sat on the next table to us
with is lovely dogs, also enjoying the winter sunshine. He's Mahe Drysdale and won gold at London 2012 and no, I didn't take any pictures. My daughter said that this was his private time and how would I feel if someone was taking pictures of me. She's right of course.
Then, we get a text from my youngest daughter, who works at one of the local supermarkets, and this guy (2nd picture) was there doing his shopping. He's Eric Murray and he won gold with his partner, Hamish Bond.
We had the equestrian team in town yesterday for a parade and photo's at the town hall and Sarah Walker was doing the local schools on Friday with her medal. Phew!

Today I went to my grandsons school. He commenced school on Monday. Today all the parents were invited to come and have lunch. As my daughter was at Uni I stood in for her. I must say the lunches were very different from when I was at school. Plenty of different dishes and mainly healthy it was nice to meet his teacher and meet the other parents.

I met up with a friend from uni today who I hadn't seen in a while and we had lunch and then wandered up and down the Royal Mile enjoying the various outdoor fringe shows in the sun - Edinburgh is good on days like this!
