I know it was stated at the beginning of the game that the word must be in Dictionary.com but it does seem a bit rigid. (Laundry’s rules actually). Do we have to check every entry to make sure it is there?

Found these examples of evoluted:

adb.......If it's a word, it would be in the dictionary. If we don't have that rule, then everyone could make up their own words, which would make nonsense of the game. In the examples you have quoted, they seem to be talking about 'evolution' and if so, the word that should have been used is 'evolved'.

My guess is that it is now an archaic word that may have been in use when Darwin first introduced the concept of evolution?

I also came to the conclusion that the word is archaic, as I couldn't find it in other dictionaries either. Glad we got that sorted.  Can we get on with the game now!?
