Hey sorry ChrisMac I've not been great health wise so been out of it for a while. There probably should be RTR run this week but I'm afraid I don't see it happening. I will try and go through results and post the years leaderboard within the next couple of weeks though Smile

I think a better scoring system would just to be adding up all the match scores you get instead of tallying the positions finished for each tournament.

In some ways yes but then again the number of points would skyrocket. ALso the tallying keeps it more even and competitive overall Smile It's easy enough to manage- I'm just lazy at doing the maths at all Very Happy

If you use a spreadsheet it will do the maths for you Smile

I guess the over-all points might make it more fun in a way, you could keep track of the cumulative match point scores as well though and use it like goal difference in football for when people end the season on the same score - it would go to the match scores to differentiate them.

Hey, my previous post gave me the idea to create a spreadsheet which we could use for this on Google Drive. You can see it here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArVAlG0DR7r3dHhxVW5qTFBXMFpoci1WdzFUTXdhbXc

This way everyone can view it and see how they are doing compared with everyone else. The scores I've put in there are just test scores to show how it works.

If you have a google mail account I can add you as an editor so you will be able to add the scores in yourself, note only the people I add (or other editors add) will be able to edit it everyone can only view it. It's very easy to use you only have to enter the scores people get on each day and it does all the hard maths work so you don't have to!

This is where my lack of knowledge of the more diverse options from google lets me down. That actually looks great hug I do have a spreadsheet in excel that I've used for last year but this is much better. If I PM you my google email could you add me so I can get right to work on it?

Seriously thanks for thinking of this hug

Yeah sure PM me, there is a chat service on there as well if you need to ask me any questions. I'm just working on automatically generating the leader board right now then I think it will be finished.

As commented on in day 7's thread. we've seen players come back from 2 sets down and you can't predict when a player will become injured during a match.
As for Andy v Simon, people can take this into account when they predict Shrug It's fairer to not give out points in a retirement, especially during a 5 set match, because like with Simon v Monfils, you never know which way it can pan out.

6) In case either of the two players retire due to injury, that particular match will NOT count.

There is a strong case to be made for changing this rule, my suggested amendment would be:

In case either of the two players retire due to injury that points will be awarded following the scoring system. i.e. if the winner is correct then 1 point is awarded, if it is a bankers choice then 2 points will be awarded.

However, I am perfectly happy with the current rule but the organisers are happy to discuss this rule and a possible amendment.

In addition, if the rule is amended then when should this amendment become active?

^ agree with you about changes to the points following a withdrawal and though harsh, cos I backed Ferrer Wink, think it's best not to change mid-tournament. Is the next Monte Carlo? Then there.
But as always will abide by majority view.
