Mark, shouldn't the first post in the leaderboard thread be the overall standings, followed by the Australian Open results?

I suppose that would be ideal but I don't want to do that every time, I like to stay clear of numbers. It would be better if people replied to the topic giving the overall standings after each tournament, then people know that they just need to read the latest post.

Mod NoticeMoved posts from 'Leaderboard 2009' to here.

Overall Standings (last updated after Australian Open)

1st - TCK - 20 points

2nd - Banannie - 16 points

3rd - Mark - 12 points

4th - Allan - 10 points

5th - Torin - 8 points

6th - Rafa - 6 points
      - Weegie - 6 points

8th - Sarah_ - 2 points
      - Yamor - 2 points

Hopefully that's right.  I didn't know how to split people on equal points as it was the first tournament of the year so there are no previous results to go back on.

I can't seem to find it in the rules, maybe we never officially added it but I think if you can't distinguish them by previous results then you choose based on who got the most matches right regardless of whether the sets were right.

I'd prefer there to be some tiebreaker rules, and most winners selected sounds better to me than most winners with perfect sets.  I'll have to have a look back to see how the respective ties look with that in mind.

Well, one tiebreak is broken without question.  Yamor missed out on 4 points on matchday 10 he should have been entitled to, shooting him up to 4th.  rafa got more winners correct than weegie (though weegie didn't play the final).

There's also the tiebreak for 10th (between dmarc and Josh) to consider.  I haven't checked them out but I'm inclined to believe that Josh was better with winners looking at the completed table.

All sounds confusing to me, is this all abiding by the rules?

The problem is that there are no rules for tiebreaks.  We need a consensus.

What do you mean about me? That a mistake was made with my scores?

And by the way, I'd like that the best, to never go back to previous weeks.
My list of tie-breakers would be: most correct matches (regardless of sets). If equal, then most points earned in one day. If equal, then whoever's second best day was better. And so on.

Yeah, I never really liked the 'best result last week' rule

Looks like we are all agreeing with Yamor's suggestion so let it be official!

So where does that leave the Australian Open scores?
