Minor edit.

BEFORE
1) A deadline for predictions is set typically 1 hour before the start of play on the first day (unless otherwise stated by an organiser). This prediction deadline will remain constant for each matchday during the whole tournament.
AFTER
1) Deadlines for predictions are always set before the chosen matches begin and are based on UK time unless otherwise stated.
We need as much time before the match as possible to allow for predictions, Shanghai is a perfect example due to its timezone. I've also made the 'How to' page more simple in its display by using expandables as the rules and scoring on that page might be a bit overwhelming for some.

Good decision, I never understood the need for the 1 hour rule.

If we are not going to do as many tournaments next year will there be more than 5 matches to pick?

We could do every match now there won't be an event every week.

Yeah I see your point, would be worth trying that out. It doesn't require a rule change, it's up to the person organising the match day but if it works out well then hopefully it can become the standard practice.

Yeah, why do you disapprove of these changes? Do you actually play RTR at all?

4. Advanced predictions before an OOP is released are still allowed. However, you cannot make a single post predicting results for several future matchday threads, only one post with predictions for the next future matchday thread.
I think advanced predictions should be limited to just 2 for each event, is that fair? I'm concerned some people will end up using it for most of a tournament when it should only be used for emergencies really.

One thing that needs to be avoided is having advanced predictions for more than one day... like having someone say, "I'm on holiday that week". The person should have to request it each time for every matchday they cannot make.

I see your point on this, but I really want to play RTR properly next year, but am fairly regularly completely out of internet/mobile access for work reasons for more than a week at a time (including potentially during the Aussie Open Crying or Very sad) - It would be nice to stay in the competition regardless...

In your situation I would say it would be pretty unfair but you to get points from a tournament you're not even around to predict for... can you not get mobile Internet for your phone? Our WAP version of this forum is very low bandwidth and very fast.

If people aren't around could they not just predict every possible match in advance, for example, Murray/Roddick beat Federer/Djokovic in 2 and if they are away even longer, Murray/Roddick/Federer/Djokovic beat Bogdanovic/Guccione/Hernandez/Pashanksi in 2.

I don't think that's in the right spirit of things, you should available for a tournament if you are going to compete in it.

This is only running for the big events so it's pretty lame that some people still would want to predict an entire tournament in advance.

It didn't seem to be a problem this year when people would regularly make picks for their friends.

I suppose what you are suggesting is not as bad as someone going "standard predictions"... still think it's pretty lame to allow Frown
