 When I was there this is all they talked about. I have heard of the playoffs currently going on in the USA. About the New York Mets and some other team. Has anyone here ever played?

I saw the Yankees play a couple of weeks ago, but they'd already made the playoffs and so they fielded a substandard team....

Baseball is quite a boring sport.

Only American sport I am interested in, is football. Just wish it was less interrupted. Smile

I can never get into the American sports, find them so incredibly boring. Hate basketball with a passion and not too keen on Ice Hockey. American Football and Baseball are bearable I suppose, although I will only ever watch the superbowl and perhaps the odd few minutes of a "world" series game. The thing that really gets me is all this "world series" and "world championship" talk. If it's a world event, why can't the rest of the world enter? You only get the couple of token Canadian teams from outside USA. Why can't anyone else take part if its a "world championship"? It's ********, its a north american championship.

I was wondering a similar thing. Why do they call the American Championships the World Series. Wha t if we had a team?

Because the US is full of itself that;s why.

American Football is like 5 seconds of fast paced action then 5 minutes of nothing! Ok so i;m exagerating a bit, but it;s just annoying. Baseball i got quite into last year watching it on late night c5.

The "world series" i believe is now between the St Louis Cardinals and the Detroit Tigers. the Cardinals won the national league title and the tigers won the american league title. See here

Basketball i hate, Ice hockey though is amazing, but only if your at the game usually. Immensely entertaining and the best atmosphere! Although it's only about 800-1000 people at Fife ice Arena, it;s comparable in Noise to Murrayfield when Scotland are playing!

Woo American Football!! Went to my first game today - Princeton 31 - Harvard 28!!

HELL YES!! What do Harvard and **** have in common? They're both number two!! SAFETY SCHOOL!

Meh! Go and see NCAA tennis. Wink

I don't think that Princeton has any great player current or pro.

Unlike British collegiate tennis, which is really weak when compared, American collegiate tennis is really good. Surprised  Most of the top players can crack the top 150 and then you have people like Blake, Delic and Benjy Becker.

The universities in Texas are brilliant!!
