Broad is probably my favourite player alongside Collingwood who has been my long time favourite. Broad's batting hasn't quite come on as quickly as I expected it to though. I think towards the end of 2008 I said the first test century would come in 2009 but Mitchell Johnson has got ahead of him in that respect. But his bowling has developped much faster than I'd anticipated to the point where he's now a genuine world class fast bowler. If he can remain injury free and manage to resist some of the temptations his fame, money and looks will provide, we could have a really special player on our hands for the next decade.

Two results this week that I wouldn't have predicted - Australia winning and England drawing blink

Australia winning, or rather Pakistan capitulating, was as sure as night follows day the first time Hussey was dropped tbh. Said to my Dad I should go and put $50 on them when it happened. Regretting not doing it.

Everytime Pakistan lose people make that accusation. This time I think it's a case of the current Pakistan team being very mediocre, especially at batting. Got some reasonable bowlers, but aside from Yousuf they don't really have a test match standard batsman.

Ah, I'll ignore the gossip then.  I didn't see any of the match.

Am thinking of catching the Aussies in Hamilton later this year but I don't know. Think

Speaking of the Aussies, just seen old Ponting having his lunch at the cafe opposite work. They are staying at the Inter Continental Hotel which is next door the office. Being so close to Parliament I always see various MPs and ministers out and about at lunch time and every sports team/band etc seem to stay at the Inter Continental so usually see them about too.
