Ice hockey in India??????????? We dont even get proper tennis. Cricket was played in the Olympics only once, way back in Paris and Britain won it (obviously).

They have football but only people under age of 23 are allowed. Britain cant compete as the footballing nations are diff. as in Eng, Wal, Sco, N Ire.

But we are thinking of putting a team out for 2012. Won't be surprised if England fail to get 300. Hope Blackwell and Panesar can have a good a debut as Cook did today.

Yup. Well, the majority of it will be in London, some event will be spread out in other cities across Britain.
Apparently Cardiff thinks its a good idea to build a super-Casino so that we get to be one of those cities. So not impressed.

We might get a team in the 2012 London games though, it is being discussed I believe. We could actually have a Britain football team in every games, I think both FIFA and IOC have no problem with it .Problem is the Scots don't want anything to do with it, I read that apparently playing for Britain will "take away their scottish identity," or something along those lines. I guess that means scottish runners and swimmers and everyone else wouldn't want to compete for Great Britain either then?
IMO its pathetic if we can't have a football team in the olympics, if its allowed then why not?
Back on topic, poor first day, although certainly not unexpected. Hope collingwood can keep it going for a while and get us to a defendable 1st innings total.

Hopefully Hoggard will stick around for a while, letting Colly have the strike.

Scotland and Wales dont want to play with England, leaving only Northern Ireland.
Best of luck to E&W today.
