Oh but it is, because this means we don't have the fact England made it shoved down our throats. Poxy group and you failed, hardest group in history and we just missed out. Hardly comparable. I can't wait til the Home Nations!

Well it is the point. Why did both teams compete in qualification? To qualify, thus both failed.

That was ******* unluck! My eyes were watering when Lampard scored the penalty and was about to cry when Crouch scored...I couldnt breathe until the 77th minute...

The return of Arka.
I've thought this for a long time!
Re the footy - why did MacLaren think that he still had a job after England lost?
That was a sure sign of the FA needing to appoint a new manager.

I didn't quite manage all your post Alex, sorry. But I think you're right. You've always said that there are too many foreign players which is quite magnanimous of you given that you support Arsenal. I don't think the Football league will do anything about it though because there's too much money from SKY for "the best league in the world" and everyone in football is on the gravy train. Pundits, media, (Who is the Sun owned by again?) players, managers. They all enjoy the extra pay.
I think Mclaren should have refused to accept the payoff and resigned. It's sheer greed and he should be hounded by the media for robbing the FA of 2 million pounds. Rewarded for failure. What an incentive for other potential managers.
A point I don't understand is why can't British players, teams be as technically good as other countries. I'm not just thinking of Brazil etc, but Croatia, Eastern European teams, Holland in years gone by etc.
I remember a Scottish pundit saying we'll never be technically good like that, so we shouldn't bother. Well, why not. Is it the climate, the "British game" ??? You know, just basic things like correctly weighed passes so players don't have to break their stride, elevating defense to an art form like the Italians instead of relying on mistakes and physical strength to win matches.
I personally don't enjoy watching the English league. I think the football's essentially crap. Long ball, rush around for 90 minutes. I prefer South American, Spanish or Italian football.
