After the recent posts in the Football Talk thread, i was thinking what would be my dream team from current players. This is my choice - although its probably a bit biased towards English and English-based players.

Buffon

Maldini
Cannavaro
Terry
Lahm

Ronaldo
Fabregas
Giggs

Kaka

Messi
Drogba

On the bench, i'd have Cech, A. Cole, Vidic, Gerrard, Deco, Rooney, Totti

and I'd have Wenger as manager.

The only player I disagree with being on your list, is A. Cole. The rest could all compete for the places you put them in certainly.

Who would you have as a left-back? There seems to be quite a shortage nowadays...

Ashley Cole in his time at Arsenal, and especially around the 03-04 unbeaten season and Euro 2004, was the best in the world without a doubt. That left sided partnership between him, Robert Pires and Thierry Henry was just phenomenal and most goals we scored from say 2002 to 2005 were created and/or scored by that trio. And that game he had against Ronaldo at Euro 2004 was just the best defensive performance from a left back you are ever likely to see, especially being against a player not too many fullbacks have a good time against. Haven't seen enough of Cole at Chelsea to say where he'd stand now. But certainly the Cole I used to love would have competed for a place in this side.

Not going to post my own side just yet as I'm at work. Will have to think about it. Yours looks pretty good Yamor, although I'd probably change both fullbacks and I'd have Gallas over Terry. Other than that it's probably much the same.
