Amazing to think we beat them by an innings without Anderson. He looked absolutely gutted he wasn't out there on that morning.

It is wonderful we won the serie and regained the ashes with home advantage.  I was told that we are guaranteed to move up from 6th to third, and can  leap frog Australia into second place in the ICC world ranking if we win the last test to make it 4-1.

Does anyone know how many ranking points are on offer at each test in this serie please ?

For example, against the Ozzies, how many world ranking points do we gain if we win 1-0, 2-0, 3-0, 4-1, 5-0 etc.... Please ?

I understand about how ratings are calculated (points divided by series played) but am unclear how the two team current ratings are taken into account when points are awarded.  I am aware that a serie's win gives a bonus test win worth of points.
Explicit examples for this series would be grateful especially 3-1, 4-1, 3-2.

Thank you.

8-15 by broad is amazing bowling numbers. The guy should get a knighthood ! The wickets were knocked out like flies with actions every over and my cricket keen colleague was leaping up and down in his chair..  Lucky for us, the IPL T20 million$ league meant the Aussies no longer come here during their winter months so don't get enough practice on our turning wickets.

Was astonishing bowling from Broad. I was also leaping up and down, never seen anything quite like that. His Father walking past Allan Border and sledging him in the crowd was pretty funny too.

Not sure how the ranking points work though. I've pretty much mastered football seedings so don't have enough head space to try and understand tennis or cricket rankings too! lol

Great to see Root has gone up to number 1 test batsman.
